Site: Sandstone with a 10m fall front to back

Project 51 as the owner called it, is built into the side of an elevated sandstone mountain.  Although deceiving the entry level is buried below the ground along the sides and rear. We used PVC Dincel for the basement walls and used elaborate sub soil drainage systems to ensure the water is caught and directed away from the home even below the ground. We retained the old garage in front of the new dwelling so that new setback controls would not apply.
